Hey guys, I am looking to replace my MAF.
I saw the diagram posted in the other thread, and think I should be
able to figure it out. Does anyone have pointers on stuff to be careful
of while doing this. Just want to make sure I dont inadvertantly break
something else while doing it. Also anyone have suggestions on where
to order the part so I can save a few dollars? Thanks in advance guys!

 

I just picked up a MAF for $201. I hope thats a decent price.

 

very decent! where did you buy that? Last time i checked was $299

 

I have the paperwork at my office. It should be coming in tomorrow.

Is the part you bought mercedes brand or aftermarket?

I wuz told by a service tech that if you change your own MAF you still need a service comp to reset the comp or the CEL will stay on.

 

Its a genuine MB part that shipped from a MB parts dept
in South Carolina I think. I am going to be installing it
tonight.

As for the CEL light, when I first got it, and had the code
pulled, we thought it was inaccurate, so I unplugged the
battery. It reset it, and the light came back, showing MAF,
so I bought the part. I just wanted to make sure the
reading was correct, before I spent a few hundred to fix
it.
