Load equlizers:
pros: gets rid of the error message.
cons: gets hot and requires piercing the cables.
So... it's either live with the error message or risk the load equalizer damaging the light housing part.
Anyone had experience with these load equalizers?

i hope someone that has successfully installed LED bulbs with load equalizers/resistors makes a step by step soon.. because i am WAY too lazy to piece all this together

There is really isnt' any steps involved to get you going with the LED lights.
1) buy the LED bulbs
2) open the package and cut/file off one of the 2 prones on the bulbs
3) do it for both bulbs
4) open ur hood and open up the light housing by twisting the cap 1/4 turn
5) reach down there and twist 1/4 turn on the h6w bulb housing.
6) replace the bulb with the new one.
7) put light back in the housing
at this stage u will have blueish white looking light. However u will have the error message.
8) the load equalizers are connected to the bulb in a parallel circuit. Which means that you need to splice one of the wire (anyone) on the h6w socket. The splice tool is like a little clip. The clip has 2 slots, one for the wire on the socket and the other one is for the equalizer. All you have to do close both clips and you are done.
The reason i m hesitant to install the load equalizer is taht it gets hot. And there is really no space in the light housing to savely mount it.

Code:
---------------------------------------- ||| (h6w) socket where the bulb is. -----+-----------------------+---------- | (splice clip 1) | (splice clip 2) | | +----(Load equalizer)---+

Clear Turn Signal Indicator Bulbs
Have any of you tried to replace the amber turn signal indicator bulbs with bulbs sold on the following site which claims that they look silver but glow amber when lit. Seems like they would make the yellou upper portion of the front headlights/turn signal area look clear when not lit.

Rob - thanks for the reply. I ordered the Led's you have - your headlights/city lights look great in the pic.
I also ordered the bulbs described in my prior post. I'll be back if they're not as advertised.

Actually, an easier way to make these LEDs work without gettin the message is to change the resistor that is wired in series with the power. I noticed the resister is 2.5 Amps. Does anyone have a 12V meter to measure the voltage and current coming out of the lead? I can help calculate what resistor you should replace it with to make that message dissappear.

What about the bulbs in the side view mirror turn signal indicators - I mean my car is silver and I am now after the monochromatic look so if any of you know whether these are replaceable by white (Led) bulbs, or bulbs that do not look amber when unlit, let me know.

After reading these statements, and after trying to get the bulb at NAPA I assumed the replacement bulbs didn't exist and, silly me, tried the local Mercedes Benz dealer, who said come by and we'll install it. 7 bucks later (installed free of charge) my parking lamps work perfectly, the bad bulb message is gone and I can see the temperature again. Lotta fuss 'bout nuttin.
