Just Dyno-ed my car....

201 HP and 214lb-ft/TQ

The only "performance" modification is a CLK55 AMG Intake.

The car is rated at 275HP/295TQ at the crank. Theoretically, we should loose about 20% through the drivetrain for an automatic....which should yeild about 220HP/240TQ. Right??

Are these numbers low???

you also have anti-performance upgrades by putting in those heavier, larger wheels...

I was told that it would slow the car down in the 1/4 mile, but on the dyno, it's near negligible.

When you mention straight pipe. Do you mean resonator removed? If so, I lost about 8hp when I removed mine.

Yes. 230-229hp with straight pipe and Eisenmann. 240hp with resonator and AMG exhaust.

Interesting find! However, this could have something to do with the AMG exhaust vs. the Eisenmann? And this is on a E430, right? Same engine I presume..

Correct. It could of had something to do with the Eisenmann. I believe resonator removal is for sound only. It reduces about 30lbs but I don't think hp is increased. At least not on my car.

I have the same engine as you and produced 211hp stock, which IMO is low compared to other cars with same engine. With the mods that you have, I do think your #'s should be higher.

Every car is different and responds differently to mods, so the best and only way to know, is to go back to stock and Dyno again.

Actually, Yes! I dyno'd my 2002 CLK 430 at 15,000 miles in October 2003 at Eurosport in Anaheim, CA. It was totally stock except for Brabus springs.

246 hp
251 Torque.

This was before my AMG muffler and K&N Filters. These were also on the OEM AMG Wheels too. Hope this helps!

No, this doesn't help!!! Your numbers make mine WAY too low!!! lol

Thanks for sharing though. Those are very good numbers! Do you remember if they did a 3rd gear pull? Did it kick down a gear or did it go to redline?

Do you have to trick the computer like on M3's, b/c the front wheels aren't moving or do you just put the car on the dyno???

I was asking this question in regards to a 01 clk 430.

Well, you will have to turn the ESP (traction control) OFF. Also, there seems to be some "dyno" mode in our cars that can be enabled through the menu on the cluster. I'm still looking into it. It is meant to turn ESP/BAS/ABS and all that other electronic wizardry off and lock the gear in place so that it doesn't upshift/downshift.

hmm... just curious... but, why do so many have the obsession to dyno their car?

unless you do major performance mods to your car, and you track your car... does it really matter that much what it says on the dyno?

just a question... so, no flames needed... frankly, i'd rather spend the money and buy the car something small & nice....

I have always dynoed all my cars, just to see what they put down. I do drag race my cars, and I like to autocross my M3.
