Mikbox - Anyone here install one?
The Mik-Box is an ongoing project that has set the goal to fully integrate any phone with Mercedes Benz vehicles. This is not another aftermarket solution that makes use of just the built in microphone and loudspeakers. Full integration also means, using the COMAND, radio or steering wheel controls to dial, accept/reject calls, toggle call waiting, read SMS messages, browse the cell phone's directory, etc... in other words, everything that the original MB phone can do.
Since cellular phones have a shorter planned life span than automobiles, you will most likely switch phones one or more times while owning your vehicle. The Mik-Box comes with a programming port, so that its software can be updated via the internet. Therefore new cell-phone generations can easily be integrated without buying expensive new parts (like a new PSE) every time.
I was wondering if anyone has tried this, and what is your opinion about the quality?

Thanks,
Mike

I just finished installing the Mik Box in my CLK55 about an hour ago. The install took about 30 minutes or so and the system works perfect. Full integration of all components. So far so good. I am still trying to figure out all of the voice commands but all the functions seem to work great.

Mikbox and Bluetotoh
This thing looks awesome. If it works like it says, I don't know why MB would not want to carry this little gadget.
I use a Samsung I500 from Sprint. I am willing to change, but I need a phone with PDA functionality.

It appears the Mikbox only supports Motorola phones, so I may need to change phones. I don't think Motorola is making any MS smart-phones yet.
I looks like the Mikbox is expected to integrate BT sooner or later. Once thats a go, I am definitely going to get it. I just wonder if it will ever be released with BT. If the Mikbox supported BT, then the skies the limit.

I have an 01 CLK and want to install the MikBox myself. I have
a Motorola E398 I want to pair. I guess I should step up and
order it, lol. NorCalGregclk55, how much did the unit cost you?
