shocks covered under warranty...
this is probably a dumb question but what is the expected life of MB shock absorbers? if they abnormally wear (i.e. from lowering :P) within that expected time then are they eligible for replacement? i know, obviously, consumable parts like brakes are not but are shocks different? if anyone has had success in replacing them under warranty please advise...
i'm just planning on upgrading to a 430 or 55 and the current 320 will be replaced back to stock...and needless to say i'd like to get a new set of shocks installed.

Out Of Control!!
If the shocks appear out of spec during your warranty period, they are covered. It's unlikely that MB will notice changed spring pads, if you're that worried, change them back before going to service. I have no idea what spec actually is for the shocks.

My dealer would not replace my shocks on the Slk 230 sport under warranty because of the H&R spring. They would not notice the different if you just change the pads. But if your alignment is out due to the pads, i can warranty they will find out why.
