Fuel Guage Failure

That'a a story for another post) So with the fuel guage fixed, and apparently working properly in that it no longer moved all over the dial, I drove happily off
(two weeks later when the body shop was done with my spoiler). Then when I got to the half full mark of my first tank of the post-dealer fix fuel, the enging stopped.
I filled the tank with fuel, and all was well, but as soon as it got below 8 gallons it would stop running. So now, the car runs fine as long as there's at least 8 gallons in the tank. When it gets below 8 gallons, it stops running like it's out of gas. Has anyone else experienced this problem????

I've changed mine twice under warranty and it's broken again.
Now, I don't have warranty and haven't fixed it. Wonder how much it would be to fix it.
You would think this is a recall, since the equipment is defective.
