2005 CLK500 Coupe
Keyless go question

Hello, i am kinda new to this forum, just got a 05 CLK 500 coupe a couple months ago, got it fully loaded and love the car, the way it drives and the luxury is awesome.

Keyless Go question - I have keyless go on my car, everything is working perfect, i guess i am still not sure how exactly it locks. because right now when i finish driving, i put the car in park then hit the stop button, after that i exit the car, when the car door closes, i touch the little black button on the door which locks the car.
I was thinking that when i close the door and i walk away the car will automatically lock, i have not tried this yet, i guess i am to afraid to test it out and realize that the car did not lock and risk things getting stolen.

Anyone know for sure how this works, thanks.

it will not autolock. You must use the door or the remote to lock it.

It won't lock by itself but nevertheless, it is a really cool option. Have fun with it. I have been loving mine

Get clear protective mats to go over the carpeted ones, I found one's that are nice and thin with very little design to them. I also keep stone colored towels over the seat bottoms. Be careful of dark leather belts leaving dye transfer on the seat backs. Rubbing alcohol works really well on the door kick panels to remove shoe scuffs. Stone leather is beautiful but.... NEVER, NEVER again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fully loaded ? No voice control, no vented seats, no multi-contour seats, no folding mirrors, no evolution pedals, stock wood trim, no distronic, no AUX heater (not that you need it), no harmon kardon.

Still like the car but I think it needs the MBENZNL treatment.

yeah, i have to get it detialed every 2 months to keep it clean, but otherwise, the only thing that gets dirty are the beige carpets, but some carpet cleaner and vacum does the trick

In this situation you would be well advised to consider the extra cost also with vented seats.

Shopping list with multi-contour
------------------------------
- air pump
- air pump insulation
- new trunk lining to conceal air pump
- wiring harness
- vacuum hoses for your car
- multicontour control switches
- new seat cushions *
- air bladders upper and lower *
- new leathers *

Shopping list inclusive of the above for vented.
---------------------------------------------
- * vented cushions
- * suitable leather for vented and contour
- * specific air bladders with air holes
- switch panel with vented seats function
- wiring harness for fan control

The work can be done .... its not cheap.

Most of it is quite inexpensive. It depends on your choice of seat covering. If it is now nappa leather then what you said before is true.

If you have fabric or twin leather then it can be matched at a reasonable price once the trim needs repair or replacing.
