Is there a resonator in our car?
Hey all, I have a 04 CLK500, I was wondering if anyone knows if we have a resonator in our car? If there is, Im thinking of taking it out, hehe. I looked under my car the other day, in front of my exhaust, there is like a smaller muffler type box where there is a pipe that connects to the front of the car and the other side connector a pipe to my exhaust. Is that the resonator? please help.

Im sure a while back i aske dthe question if we could make our stock exhaust louder and some one suggested removing the rez from the exhaust

Did you ever remove your resonator? I know removing it will make it a little louder when you step on the gas..but I wanted to make sure a clk500 04' has one to begin with hehe. I heard some cars dont have a resonator thats why.

It sounds like you might need to just drive over to the exhaust install place and have them look under the car - I definitely have never tried to look. For the sound that you want, perhaps you should just bypass the muffler entirely and cut the line after the cats!
