I just put a deposit down for the CLK500 and the dealer informed me that they should be @ the headquarters near my house. I stopped by on my way home and there they were. If I had a digital camera I would of taken some pics......there is actually a lot of 209's there. Honestly, the car isn't "wowing" me, the taillights are horrible, and the car seems to sit too high, I saw the 500 in black, ice blue, and another blue, and silver. Looks horrible in silver, the other blue looked good. After seeing it person I'm having doubts about keeping my order. I might just keep it to see it in white. Does anyone know if heated seats are standard or an option? They are normally included in a package but now there is nothing that has them as an option. I am greatly disappointed at what MB did to the CLK, I thought it was going to blow me away and its not doing it for me. I finally saved enough to get a new car, and I thought the 209 was going to be mine, but I don't know if I want it anymore, and there isn't any other cars that don't do it for me...I might consider getting an M3??? Anyone have any advice??

I'm not sure what the exact address is but i think its 1 Mercedes Drive, if you go from Upper Saddle River you can take Lake St towards Montvale, Lake St will turn into Grand Ave and the Headquarters will be on your right. Now there are two buildings, one right after the other, both of them will have 209's in the parking lots if you go during a weekday, the second one also has the new E class......take a drive and let us know what you think...

Is this an indication that we may actually be getting the CLK500's around July 15th?!?

Actually, the cars at HQ are most likely here to establish that they satisfy all U.S. requirements prior to production models being imported. I don't think that there being here tells us much about when W209's will arrive at the dealer.

Similar to the new SL, Mercedes provides launch editions to arrive at the dealers at the same time. That way no single dealer can get a jump on other dealers.

I am reserving judgement on the new CLK until I see one in person. In the meantime I am thoroughly enjoying my current car. The new ones look a little "soft."

If anyone of you end up going out there, please take pictures and post for us down here in South Florida. Usually, we are one of the first to get new MBenzes, so the July date is more realistic to us!!!!

I searched on WhitePages.com for the phone number of the Mercedes HQ in Montvale, NJ, and the number I got back was was (201)-263-0412. I've been calling the number all morning, but nobody answers. I'd like to get a verbal confirmation from them that the 209's are there before I drive an hour to Montvale. Does anybody have info that could help me - either a phone number, or an assurance that they will be there this week?

Well.. I called another dealership in New Jersey, and asked for the phone number of the Mercedes HQ in Montvale. They gave me the number (201)-573-0600. I called, was put on hold for a while, and when I was finally connected with a representative. When I spoke to him, I asked if the 2003 CLK500's were currently at their headquarters. He told me no, and that I had been misinformed. I told him that I heard that the2003 CLK's or the 2003 E's were at their dealership recently. He told me I had been misinformed.

When I told him that I had seen pictures of black, blue, and silver CLK500's at their dealership (a white, but purposeful fib), he told me again that I had been misinformed. Rrrrrrrright. Its apparent to me that either the cars are no longer there, they don't want too many people knowing about them. Whatever the case, I'm glad I didn't drive 2 hours for nothing.

CLKFanatic: If you're in the area, it would be MUCH appreciated if you could swing by and let us know if the cars are actually still there. I'd be willing to make the trip if they are..

The Headquarters is an office building, they don't sell cars there or anything like that, but I like 5 minutes from Montvale and I have been there 4 times already and always see a 209 there, remember there are 2 seperate buildings, one of them always has a black 209 there with no plates along with a couple SL's and the new E class, at the other building, from what I think employees get to test the 209 for MB so that means they get to drive to and from work. Again I always see a 209 in there....hope this helps
