Lowering a CLK500
I'm looking to lower my CLK500 with Brabus springs, but cannot find any information on where I can get a matching set of shocks. I've seen conflicting information with some people saying they'll be fine on the stock shocks and others saying changing only springs will ruin the shocks pretty quickly. I'm more concerned with ride quality than performance.
Can anyone recommend a suspension kit for under $1000 that includes springs/shocks? Searching through the forums, I've seen several mentions of cup kits and coilover suspensions, but have no idea how either work and what their benefits/drawbacks are.
Any info would be great.

It barely lowered the car, and I ended up taking them off and getting a set of Bilstein PSS-9 coilovers instead. The coilover setup is much better, although a bit more expensive:

I can't find any Koni or Bilstein parts listed for the w209. Shox.com and whoever else I talk to all say they have nothing to offer for this car. So I've been considering picking up an Eibach Pro-System Kit. From what I've read, the included shocks are made by Sachs and should provide a clean 1.2" drop. There does not seem to be much info about this kit anywhere, but it looks like a decent option. Has anyone tried it?
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
The CLK55 AMG Springs are actually physically the same height as the Brabus springs, the only difference is the AMG springs are 14.5mm in thickness & the Brabus are 14mm (about the thickness of a coat of paint). That 0.5mm thickness and the fact the Brabus centre 3 coils are spaced about 5mm further apart gives you a drop of around 5-7mm further than the CLK55 springs.
So, if you have CLK500 the Brabus Lowering Spring will do, I have used them on my new CLK55 Amg and I feel its perfect.
