cracked tail light covered by factory warranty and transmission problem

i noticed a few people saying that their rear center brake light was cracking. Is that covered under warranty? seems to be a commom problem. also anyone else have their transmission get stuck in 1st gear when pushing the car hard? should i take it in to the dealer or is that just the way the car reacts normally? Seems really odd that it would jerk that hard in gear

It's unfortunate that you don't live in ATL. Over here, you can get an appt the next day at Atlanta Classic Cars or RBM of Atlanta and they'll give you a loaner too. The longest I've ever had to wait was two days and that was because I couldn't come at 3pm the following day.

I have a question for ya'll tho. Did your dealers give you problems when you got them replaced? or was it like no questions asked? Mine has a tiny crack in it (not cracked enough to get a new one) and I want to get it replaced before I smoke them. Basically what I'm asking is.. would you guys advise me to break it on purpose? Do you think I'll get away w/ it?

Rafi, rafi.... what are you saying??? Break it on purpose??? That's just wrong!

That said, even if it's a small crack, you can make enough noise about it so they'll change it. A crack's a crack, big or small, it shouldn't be there! I don't think they've got a policy that says...IF the crack is <= 2.5mm, we'll not change it. 2.6 though, that's a different story...

They've changed it twice for me so far. And the cracks weren't big either. But yes, you should get it fixed before you smoke it.

Rafi...I used to live in atlanta..when to high school there. My friend's mom actually owns Atlanta Classic Cars. That dealership is amazing. I dont know about pricing but the lot is gi-normous.

I'll probably end up with a loaner toyota camry that i will abuse the crap out of. God knows i did the last one i got. Give me a Bright Red Camry to drive will you!!

209MAD:

Haha, I'd only do that so that I don't have to raise hell. I'd hate to ruin my friendship w/ my service advisor by being loud; cuz he's hella nice and always hooks me up w/ good appt times, and MY05 Loaner Cars. So the easiest way, I thought, was to break it even more to exaggerate the problem. Is that wrong? I don't think so cuz I'd get a free one anyways, just by raising hell... but this keeps me from getting loud and I still get a free Brake Light.

Hey, my Side Mirror's Light is cracked and water gets in it... Do you know if that's under warranty? It's only a $50 part so I don't mind buying it but if it's under warranty, I'd like to get that done for free.

dkim:

I don't know how old you are or when you went to High School but about two years ago ACC moved to a new facility and it's just Amazing! They have over 50 bays to work on cars!!! and you can watch them work on your car from upstairs windows... It's really cool.
