At that time we should be able to have an exact price on the hood. It should only be able 85-100 for the hood with vents.

I will keep everyone updated right when i get some more info. I am actually getting pretty excited, i think i a black CF hood with vents will be pretty nice on my C55.

Colors will be black CF and Silver CF $99 more.
let me know....if we can do the brabus vents, im in....

I would actually prefer to get gray CF to match my interior if possible - this is the color:

wow frisco, those interior pieces are to die for, where did you get them? And is that the natural finish with a clear coat or is it the grey finish?

to no gray availability - it looks like it would match the color of the paint very well and not need to be painted. I'd rather pay extra to you to get gray than to pay less and have it repainted - if it's at all possible, please let me know.

Thanks about my interior - the CF was done custom through one of the other site sponsors.

Sorry i can't help there. I definitely checked, and they will only do black or silver CF. All carbon fiber is really black, silver is bleached black CF and other colors are just dyed. Even if you can do that color hood, from a distance it will look similar to black. Wont match pewter that perfect when its right next to it, especially a very large piece like a hood with the sun glaring on it. I would go with back and maybe some custom paint job with pewter.

Neal, we got five or so here at the w209 forum. I assume most all of us wants the CF vents. Let us know or keep us updated when the production will start. I just hope it wont take like months and months.

Anyone interested in doing the CF lip? Maybe if there is enough interest we can do a group buy too since there is one with the hood.

Neal, approximately how long will the production time take? Keep us updated. I'm interested for the hoods with vents but i still have to consider the price and production time though. Keep us updated!

This seems to be a common questions

Here is what i posted in another thread.

"It should not be an issue. The vents are behind the intakes. So even in a very heavy rain no water will get close. Even if the car is parked no water can just sit in the intake. People dont realize, but alot of rain gets threw the front grill to the intakes in a heavy rain when you are on the highway. The grill is not to restrictive at all."

There are many cars that come stock with hood vents, besides ferraris, a car i can think of of the top of my head is the jaguar XKR. It has similar vents on the middle of the hood.

Well, production starts when we et 15+ orders. We have 6 here, and i think we will have like 6 in the C55 forum. We should be there in a day or so.

z1co - production time takes about 6 weeks.

I'm sort of surprised that Jay500, TMans, and AMGBred haven't shown interest. Perhaps Jay500 and AMGBred just aren't around and haven't seen the threads - it looks like TMans is around the site. I have Jay's email and can contact him to ask, and perhaps someone that knows AMGBred would volunteer to email him?

z1co - I am trying to get a new bodykit, but if it doesn't work out and I keep the Brabus, I'd be interested in one also. If we can't work it out here, I think Tmans and BrabusCLK04 already have had them custom fabricated by shops in SoCal, and we could potentially just get them through their source.

Actually I am very interested, but I have not said anything yet because I can't commit to the order right now. Waiting to clear up some other stuff. I will let you guys know soon though, but it would help if I could get the final amount.

Btw - is the hood going to be real CF or just overlay?

z1co - did you get a price on how much your guy can do it for? I might need another one. Already cracked my lip.

I was planning to do the lip on a shop here in the bay area but they were not professional at all. So I decide not to do the lip with them. That is why I decide to ask whether anyone on this board is interested in getting the lip done as well since there is another groupbuy going on. I emailed the place where u did ur lip but they didn't reply me. If u decide to do the lip again, let me know man! I want to do it too. Who knows we can get a cheaper price if we do 2 lips instead of just 1

The hood is a filberglass shell. I was told weight will be anywhere from 11-14lbs.

Btw, guys, sorry for the delay, my guy is just playing around with a few designs and molds and should have the price for us on tuesday. In the meantime, we will still have time for anyone to respond if they are interested.

I just posted in the other threads that i should hopefully get this going by the end of the week and start taking deposits then so we can finally get this hood made already. My guy is just playing around with the vents so it will all be perfect and everyone will be happy.
