I hope to possibly hear something tomorrow if not. If not I really would like to get this done by the end of the week. I know I keep saying tomorrow I will give you guys info, but its not me, my guy is just still playing around with the mold to make sure the vents will be perfect and everyone will like it. I am sure everyone would rather wait a week or so then have a hood they hate. Also, when we made this thread we were already to do the OEM hood in CF, but now that everyone wants CF with vents, it is just pushing things back a bit. But it will get done very soon now. I want this done just as bad, if not more then you guys!

VERY BIG UPDATE!

Well everyone, Great news! This is finally confirmed and we are ready to start building the carbon fiber hoods with vents that everyone has been patiently waiting for. We are now accepting the deposits. Once we get all deposits we will start the hood process. It will take about approx. 8-12 weeks to make. This is a first come first serve basis. We are making hood for other cars and the CF guys are real busy. So the first 6-8 hoods will me made first. Then the rest will be made after that. So if you would like to get this sooner then some of the other people. I will let the first batch go the people that I receive the orders from first. The price of the hood for the C55/W209 CLK is $790 for black carbon fiber with vents. Silver carbon fiber with vents is an additional $99. A $550 non refundable deposit is required from everyone to start the building process. Once the hoods are made you will be charged the remainder of the cost of the hood you choose. A flat rate shipping cost of $129 will also be charged at that time. That shipping cost only applies to any of the US lower 48 states. We can ship these internationally. Shipping will of course go up.

To leave your deposit please click the link below and select the hood to checkout. Please also include your MBworld user ID in the special comments box.

http://www.euroteckmotorsports.com/i...6290&pageid=87

Thanks! Hopefully within a few days all deposits will be received so we can get these going already. Also, in a few weeks one will be made and i will try to take pictures to show you the fit and finish.

Did any of you guys actually look at your engine bays? I opened mine up finally this morning, and it looked like water would drip all over a bunch of non-sealed electrical connections and the coil for a motor that sits at the base of the engine block. I'll take some pictures tonight to show what I'm talking about, but if what I saw was right, these vents might be a bad move and I might have to rethink my purchase.

Talk to lorinsercclass. He has had the vents for a while on his hood.

its really not that bad Eli, My solution would be to grab some clear tap, and tap it from the inside of the hood (this would mean, you will see the adhesive side of the tap when looking from the outside of the hood at the vents. But this wouldnt matter anyways, because the tap is clear. Besides, its summer so rain shouldnt be an issue, and even when it does rain, I dont know about you guys, but I carry tape in my car all the time, but then again, I hardly drive it. My solution, tape it from the inside with clear tape....

I have not placed my order. I am still thinking about it. I don't think my non-K8 Brabus bumper will look nice with a vented hood. I just think that my car will look weird to have a vented hood and no vent on the bumper

If it means anything to anyone, I spoke to an ex-Brabus tech a couple weeks ago about the vent issue on their K8 hood. He confirmed that the vents would not do any engine damage, other than just a dirty engine bay. Then again, it may also depend on the placement of the vents.

I dont get it, first you all wanted vents, now you dont? You know we can still go back to my originial idea which was just the OEM hood in CF. (no vents).

So does that mean, you will offer two types of style. an OEM CF hood, as well as a Vented Hood like Brabus. IF so, I want the vented hood. If your only going to offer OEM Hood, i think would pass on it. Thanks

No, we decided on the Brabus vented hood only. If people are interested, i can do a non vented hood ALSO. But since we will need to make another mold, we will need at least 5 orders on it.

The E55 guys are up to 11 orders right now. Who would have known there would be more interest over there! :p

great. One question. I have already paid for the deposit, so I assume my credit card has been charged???? Now, You mentioned before that there needs to be so many buyers in order to make the hood. Have we meet that number for CLK/C55 Hoods???? And has the production process started yet??? Basically, my question is, I dont want to wait months and months and months for something I have already paid 50% for already and not even have the product made, or having to wait for ppl to buy more. I hope this is clear....

No, no one is charged untill the 15 orders are received. At that time we will charge everyone the deposit, and once the hoods are ready to be shipped, the remaining charge will then be charged. We are only up to about 6 or 7 hoods i think for the C55/CLK. This means no one was charged yet.

Thanks for the advice. One question though. Wouldn't the tape melt because of engine heat? Thanks mate.

Regards,

Joe

Not really joe, keep in mind, you have the vent to help keep the engine cool. Only think i might think of as a problem is that the residue on the tape might get too sticky when you take it off, but i think it will be ok.
