Depending what you want to do with the car. AUD 20,000 grand more for CLS350. Standard equipments on CLS350 certainly looks tempting. CLK350 is faster.

Hey mate, thats true i suppose. These standard options you speak of? How do they differ from the clk??

Plus what do you think about it looks wise? The cls is very elegant and the clk got a sex appeal.

Confused

I think u get Bi xenon active light as standard, DVD player as standard on the CLS. CLS more mature looking. I personally prefer the younger feel on the CLK.

CLK 350 Advantgarde designo
Hi I just last week placed an order for a CLK 350 advantgarde should be here before xmas fingers crossed. I also looked at the CLS 350 but went for the CLK I like the CLS but felt the same that it is more elegant than sexy plus its a bigger car and we where looking at something a bit smaller, I am not a big fan of all that wood if it had more of a sporty feeling inside maybe a advantgarde option???? it may have won me over still a very nice car and maybe next time.

Got my CLK 350 elegance three weeks ago, you will love the drive. By the way, why is advantgarde a little more expensive than elegance now? They use to be the same price wasn't it?

CLK320 to a CLS350 is not quite a huge upgrade. They are really completely different cars, and which your money paid are for more comfort and luxury than the CLK. Whether you re moving to a CLK350 or a CLS350, you get new 270hp 4Valve engine, 7G tranny. We here locally, a CLK500 is even slightly cheaper than a CLS350. Anyhow, it is still a nice refresh to go for a CLK350 or a CLS350. I would avoid any models with 500 because this engine is fading out. (except S500 will be with a new 388hp engine )

CLK 350 Advantgarde designo

Great car Froggy
What colour is the outside of your car?? Did you order your car and if so how long did it take? According to my dealers computer it has a delivery date of 14 Nov for my car but they have advised that this my change as it has the designo leather inside to be done also. I just cannot wait they gave me a CLK200k Demo for the weekend and that was so hard to return on the monday and they took me for and gave me a drive of a E350 to get the feel of the 350 engine and the 7 speed auto.

Colour of the paint is I/Blue 357. Inside is Anth leather. I placed an order for the car on the 28th April, supposed to be due mid august, but came in mid July, 3-4 weeks in front of schedule. So there is always hope for your car to arrive early. What is the colour of your car Benz4me?

I was looking at the CLK320 for some time but did not like the drive of the 320 engine, rather weak. 350 is infinitely better with the 7 speed. By the way it feel more sporty than the E350. Yours with sport suspension will even be better.

Thanks for that I wont hold my breath for an early arrival but will keep my fingers crossed . The outside colour of my car is metallic Mauritius Blue this colour was not in the Designo book at my local dealers but I found it on the Mercedes Benz UK web site under there Designo range a quick ring to Australia Mercedes Benz head office confirmed that it was available to Australia the inside is all black so we have gone with Mauritius Blue nappa leather for the sets and side panels front and rear

" Direct Control " is a a key selling point since 2004 MB introduced this feature. It is a refinement in combination of steering and suspension which basically makes the car 's steering more responsive in some critical driving situations.

Do not mix up 'Direct Control' (DC) with 'Parameter Steering' (PS).
PS is a feature where you will find the steering wheel is much lighter and softer to steer under slow speed driving. as the car in-straight line speed increases, PS will begin to narrow the angle that you can steer lightly.

Anyone has better technical descriptions, please provide.

cntlaw, with direct control, does that mean that one can turn at higher speed using narrower angles? Or is that parameter steering?

turn at higher speed using narrower angles - this is related to parameter steering.

"direct control" is not just about steering but it is a feature that makes you feel the car more "direct" , more react to the driver's 'commands'

the recent experiience was friends of mine comparing their C200K Sports Ed. and C200 Advangarde with my C55 (with direct control and parameter steering); they said the C55 steering and driving feel is completely different from their cars.
