Feedback on Silver Trim
For those who have already seen the new CLK in a dark color, please provide comments / feedback on the silver chrome trim which is on the side panel inset (it is on the bumper too) which spans both the door and either side of the door.
Does the silver chrome trim stand out too much or does is accent the line of the car? The current CLK does not have this silver chrome accent.

I saw a black on black clk the other day. The one thing that stood out and looked great was the chrome along the side. I think it is a very strong point in favour of getting a dark colour!
So in my humble opinion the chrome on the dark car is a plus point.

Dark colours look better IMHO
Dark colours hide the naff front spoiler "grin" look. Not a problem if you have the AMG pack of course though when the opposite is true - dark colours don't show off the cool AMG sculpted spoiler.
Iolith blue looks good, but I'll probably go for tansanite (the darkest blue).
Car needs the lower sports suspension too (looks to high in std spec).
BTW the aluminium interior looks very cheap in my opinion - will be going for Burr walnut with wood wheel. Some of my mates who have also seen the alu trim like it though - each to their own.

Dark colours
Dark Colours are sooooo hard to maintain and you could easily see scratches and swirly marks on dark cars. If you plan on not maintaining the paint that often, than a silver colour would be great, but personally i think dark colours are much more lustrious and sexxxxy.

Darker colored cars (like black) are definitely much harder to keep looking clean. That was certainly a factor in my decision to go with Silver.

Obsidian Black looks great - but I have still ordered Brilliant Silver!
I have just had the pleasure of a weekends use of the local MB dealers demonstrator CLK320 elegance in Osidian Black. With only 180 miles on the clock and freshly valeted I was 'bowled over' with it's looks.
Dark colours look really good on this model - the 'silver' highlights are tastfull and set off the cars shape really well.
However, having crammed as much mileage into two and a half days as I could - and no I didn't find time to clean it!! I was reminded that a dark coloured car is just to much work (in the real world of motoring).
So, I have now placed a deposit on a CLK55 - and - you guessed it - it will be Brilliant Silver again (for the fourth time).

I think White is a GREAT color for the CLK. I originally had ordered mine in Black and then I changed it to White, the blue tinted glass really stands out.
I am not a big fan of Silver because it is a common color and too many people have it. Its the Universal color for a Benz.
Andrewlep, I think you shoud get your 55 in white. Look into that color, it really stands out, especially on a CLK.

I love the CLK in white. I totally agree with you Ferrari, I actually like most cars in white and think cars don't age as quickly in white as they do in some other colors including black, but that's only my opinion of course
