Saw a new CLK500 today
I was at the dealer dropping off my C230 for the stiff clutch/bad shifting problem, and the factory rep was there with a new black CLK500. He was doing a walk-around/features presentation for the sales people, so I listened in. I must say, it is even better looking in person than in the pictures. I wish I had my digital camera, but of course I didn't. The front view is very similar to the coupe, but the rear is much cleaner and more muscular looking with the rounded "boat tail" styling. It only had one exhaust outlet, just like a coupe which I thought was strange for a V8. The interior was really nicely done. So, yes I want one. But I will be happy if they just get the damn transmission fixed on my coupe!

Young, I don't think you will see one unless a factory rep is there with it. They have not released them for sale yet and the salesman said it would be late Aug before they got any to sell.
Buellwinkle, I just dropped it off at lunch today, so I will let you know as soon as they tell me something. They are also supposed to be putting in a new 2nd gear syncro to fix the bad 1st to 2nd shift, but I do wonder if the two are related problems.
