In Asia, it is to be seen as very "high-end" and a luxury hobby to spend $$$ to turn cars into racing symbols. The authorized MB dealer supports this marketing by adding AMG components as options in the bronchure price lists.
CLK options
Numerous examples:
Toyota will bear "Mugen" parts as racing symbols
Mazada bears "Mazdaspeed"
BMW bears "M3" ( wheels, emblems )
MB bears AMG , Barbaus, Loriser
Porche 911 has 'Turbo look' or 'GT3 look' packages to offer
Believe or not , Japanese do mod their Maybach to Loriser / Barbaus
Pity we cannot find DTM parts or I would replace all my AMGs components to DTM.
or unless my pocket could afford a limited edtion USD400K CLK DTM.Even a CLS55 AMG owner might want to find parts replacement of the king of the king IWC's "Ingenieur AMG" version

I don't mod my car because I don't have extra money and prefer to save the money for a new car in two years.
