Speed limiter question ???
Guys,
Hope you can help. I have a 05 CLK500 coupe and looking to have the speed limter set to 155mph or higher
. Stock setting of 130mph is annoying when I know this car has so much more speed to offer.
I asked my dealer about doing this and I got a Bull ***** answer that I would have to change out my instrument cluster, yada yada yada. I know this is likely a software switch in the ECU that can be set as i've done this on other american vehicles I own.
Do any of you guys know where in the NYC area I can have this done as a reasonable cost? I know I can go the Kleeman route and get one of their ECU upgrades but $1000 is a little high for 15mph and maybe 10 more hp.

There are a lot of places that can do this for you. Personally I had Kleeman chip tune my car, and along with it they changed the top speed value. I'm sure that they would do just the speed limit if you wanted them too.
I'm sure the other tuners can do this as well, it just depends on who you want to do the work and what they charge.
