2nd Cup holder in the front
Hello, guys
The stock W209 put only 1 cup holder in the front.
just a drawer right to the seat heater switch.
Frankly speaking, not friendly for the driver side.
Note at the right of shift, "coin slots", I saw pic of an optional cup
holder can be mounted there, anyone see that pic too ?
I plan to DIY the 2nd cup holder(for driver) & post pic later.....

like the one that you can connect to the bottom of the new SL seat... a long arm and then a big cylinder, it is also available for the G as an add on since the militaries that used them didn't see the need for a cup holder...

Damn you Shine! You are one lucky individual to be able to drive your CLK now. The car looks great, keep us informed of anything else you do to it. Pictures are always appreciated.

It's a cup holder, with flexible clip to stuck the bottle put in.
I think it's standard design of W209.
In back seats, you get the cup holder exactly the same as
a C-class, if you're curious about how it works, check the C.
W203.
p.s
In SLK(R170), that could be a drawer to put coins & little things
or a dual cup holder option.

hmm... why didn't they keep the cup holders from the old CLK??
you know, the one that elevates and swings around open with a push of a button??
I thought it was the coolest invention made ever!!!

Hi, F1 Superstar :
My pleasure to tell you.....
(1) My mentioned factory option is a fixed one, no foldable
(2) About the DIY, like a cigerette box lying beside shifter
when folded.

Thank you for your replies shine...
I hope that cupholder comes in other colors... like black...
another question for you... is the aluminum trim same as the one in C32 AMG? or C32 AMG does not have aluminum trim and I am just confused...

Not exactly, Schumacher
The C32AMG use the default "Avantgarde" interior from W203
(plus AMG seats & Nappa leather.....)
W209 also keeps the sport style of interior from new-C,
For those Carbon-look trims, W209 looks & touches more
real than W203, said, different and advanced print & coating
used in W209 than W203.
You may classify the wooden trim found in classic & avantgarde
is also different when comparing with other Mercedes models.
I noticed some people here prefer the Avantgarde interior of W211 though W209 are their choice.
I think that's nice taste, too.

Man ur car keeps me up at night, i think about when I will have mine and get it modified. but i doubt I will ever get a SC. It's 2 expensive and I never keep car for 2 long, so I would lose money for SC-ing...

It's always there when folded
Hi, Schumacher US$ 7.00 , DIY by double-side tape.
Coin pocket is then blocked, I put coins in ash tray now.
> If you have another cellar phone, you can put it in.(folded)
or a pack of cigarette,too.
> Bottle, coke, two packs of cigarette (open)
Before you install the Factory option, it's a cheap alternative.

Looks like I would rather have the James Bond overengineered version in my W208 and my wife's E320 wagon. The new cup holder is a step backwards. Also why do I need to show everyone my favorite beverage!!

I thought for the front seats there was the cup holder in the drawer that comes out of the dash, plus another one which lives in the glove box and has to be manually attached/removed (which is just silly) to the coin holder area where Shine has his.
Odd design if you ask me...
