2 questions !!
1. There is a charge for metallic paint of $655, and there is a charge for two tone seats of $1150. So would we have to pay $1805 (655+1150) for metallic paint with two tone seats??
2. Do the new clk500 still come with black bird eye wood? Because that's what my dealer said...

I just spoke to my dealer...
He said he drove a CLK500 on a race track this weekend and it was UNBELIEVABLE!!! "The handling was much better than CLK430. The transmission was smoother and even if the car's heavier than the old one, I could feel much more power... It is a very serious car.. It felt more like a CL-class rather than a re-done CLK-class..."
A couple of things that he mentioned...
1. He says my car will be in baltimore soon, and the expected delivery is end of next week to the early following week. He says the mb will hold E-class cars until the official launch date which is in August, but CLK will be released as soon as it gets here.
2. He also says the CLK320 will get the brown wood trim and CLK500 will get the black birdseye wood trim. 2-tone seats get aluminum trim.
3. He also says I would have to pay 1150+655 for metallic paint w/ 2-tone seats.
Can anyone correct my dealer?? I'm not sure this guy is 100% sure... like all the other car dealers...
This interior color is really nice... for everyone to enjoy...

Yeah, that's a nice interior, except I think you'd have to be crazy (or obsessive compulsive when it comes to keeping them clean) to get those seats.
Those are part of the designo package, which probably will not be available until around December from what I've heard.
My dealer also got to drive the CLK500's (and SL500's) around at a track in upstate New York. He said he was driving the CLKs at 120mph and the SL's at 140. I found this board several weeks ago...this is my first post. Anyhow, I have a W209 CLK 320 on order since March 2002 (Black w/ Stone Interior,K3, K4), that has been at the VPC in Jacksonville, FL since July 08, 2003 and my dealer has no definite release date, but my guess is Early August...especially since they haven't released the pricing yet.

Sorry, no idea about the U.S setting.but the color of interior looks great ! minus : watch the
maintainence carefully.
(1) Hand my silver to one expert of Mercedes, senior technician of
chassis, he ranked this's the top he'd never drvien before.
much better response than its predecessor.
(2) Run-in over 1000 miles, I push the car a little harder and hit 254 km/hr ( 158 mph) EFFORTLESSLY , e-limit is not cut-in at this
speed..... next time I'll find it out.
