Post New BMW E92 Coupe

There is new a 3 series BMW due this April. The new body style coupe, "E92" will have a 335CI version replacing the 330CI; the engine is reported to have 300+ hp...could be interesting. I now hear the new M3 that I have on order will be pushed back until early 2007 .

Does anyone know if the 2007 CLK V8 will be a CLK550 (382hp) or the smaller displacment CLK450 (330hp)???

the pics look good so far, will be more interesting as it comes along, personally i love the e46 what a classic. i have one at the moment in the household, and i enjoy it every now and then, no offense to the benz ppl but the clks handling does not come close and its exhaust note really sounds great

Had one of the first 330CI coupes in FL. it was a nice car but simply could not compare to the 2000 CLK 430 I had prior to except for the handling...The inline six is a very nice engine but could simply not compare to the V8, so I sold the 330 after 2 months and bought an 01 CLK430, then a 2003 CLK 500 then a 2004 CLK 500

The CLK550 makes me so jealous, I seriously wish I had an extra 80hp. It must be soooo fast. If the CLK550 is gonna have 182hp or so, then what engine will the new CLK AMG have? Is it going to be the full 63 engine, a detuned version of the 63, or a tuned up 550 engine? Whatever it will be, it's gotta have a lot more hp than the new m3.

perhaps, and im comparing to my 320 engine but i strongly feel my coupe is quicker than my 330 convertible...but the exhaust sound and handling really make up for it!

Slap on an eisenmann and some bilstein or eibach springs and it'll sound and handle like a beast...at least, that's what I'm told about the suspension upgrades.

E46 M3
2007?? Where are you getting your information? The next generation M3 will not be out until 2008. The E92 Coupe will be out late 2006 which make it a 2007 model and the M models always come out a year later.

The E92 coupe is due out this spring (so I've been told), look for the official announcement from BMW on Jan 17(so I'm told); and the M3 was initially due late 2006 (actually Oct) but was pushed back till early 2007...info is from the GM of my dealership. If the 335 is due in Sept vs May , so be it. If the M3 is delayed again I may get the CLK 550. Either way I'm #1 on the list for the new M3 so I'm not too worried.

You really need to change your sig to "2008 M3" there will be no 2007 M3 the E46 M3 ended in 2006 bmw ALWAYS waits 1-2 years for the next M model. Btw I would never believe what the GM at dealerships tell's you. I get my information from my friend at BMWNA.Btw I would be very careful with getting one of the first production year M3's you could run into some major problems. I am going to wait for the second year production.

03 CLK500, 04 X3, No 07 GT3RS :(
I had a first shipment 00 323Ci when the last body style came out and liked the car - I found the stock suspension and handling to be better then the stock CLK. From the spy pics of the new version, I can't say that I like it as much as the sedan.

No Clk550

Hello from Germany,

I am the guy from AMG owners club europe. I have good sources for the CLK.
See my threads for all the posting I had.

There will be no CLK550 with the 209 generation. Simply product placement.
It could be that we will see an CLK450 which is basicall the same engine as the 550 wiht 382hp but with smalle placement.

Kind regards from Germany,

GG

Are you certain about all this?

I hope this is not true as the 450 engine's power is 330 HP vs's the 550's 382. Why then is the CLK getting the 6.3 (albeit at a small reduction in power) ? Also, when is the new body CLK due here?

Thanks

my car was almost the same as yours...lol. Mine was a 00 328Ci sport/premium. I loved that car. It was just as fun to drive as the C32 except the power difference for the obvious.

I like the E90 more and more. The front of that car's bleh, but the rear fender flare looks great.
