I saw the new CLK in person for the first time...

z-dude, you just confirmed my every dark suspicion and expectation. my cranky 430 has been more fairly loyal. it's more of a quirky pal than a ride. i was hoping for a spouse, but maybe instead i'll get a hyundai. at least that comes with a 10-year warranty and would cost much less to keep going!

oh yeah, and i'd have some quality personal time all the days and nights the hyundai would be in the shop.
OK, i'm ready to be bashed for being a chauvanist...although i'm not nearly one. but hey, if you can't have some fun with fellow MBers, then what's it all worth?
peace, love and understanding... (ain't that a song, or something?)

ones too fast according to CHP!
We saw one driving this last Friday at Concorso Italiano in Carmel, CA and I thought it was awesome!
Yes, it was a bit bland. But so is the 208 to me. You need to lower and add wheels to make either chassis look hot IMHO.
The new car looks very clean and I love the approach on the lights!
We have a CLK500 Cab on order that will become a CLK50K evosport project car - I cannot wait!
Thanks
Brad

MBWorld Fanatic!
To all of my friends who dont know **** about cars, they love the CLK and how it drives. They love the looks of it and the feel and everything.
Too all of my friends who know about cars, they think it looks nice, but they think it's just an overpriced C-class. It sits on the 94-00' C-class chasis and for 50k, they think it is a rip-off. To each is their own taste.
In terms of cheapness or whatnot, I also think that the 98-02' CLK looks and feels a lot more sterdy than the 03'. I have seen one 03' and it did not have the same feel as the previouse one. Maybe I am just not used to it.
And in terms of looks, drop the new CLK, put on rims, and it looks sweet. Otherwise, stockwise, it looks like it rides too high and the rims look way to small.
Did I mention the rear end looks like the new Accord? Sorry.

I HVAE A W 208 AND I LOVE IT I'VE ORDERED A W 209 BECAUSE EVEN THOUGH AT FIRST I HATED IT, I LIKE THE WAY THE CAR LOOKS AFTER SEEING IT MODIFIED WHEELS, SUSPENSION KITS I THINK IT WILL BE A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THIS IS WHAT ALL THE RAVE WILL BE ABOUT. FURTHER I AGRE WITH EVERYONE WHO HAS KNOCKED THE TAILLIGHTS THEY ARE UGLY AND REALLY THAT IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT. HOWEVER WITH THE WINDOWS GOING ALL THE WAY DOWN IT RESEMBLES A CL WHICH IS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE BEST MERCEDES THEY MAKE AND FROM WHAT I WAS TOLD BY VARIOUS DEALERSHIPS BEFORE THE CAR CAME OUT IT WAS DESIGNED TO BE A BABY CL. SO MAYBE THAT IS WHY PEOPLE KNOCK THE CAR BECAUSE IT WAS AND IS INTENDED TO BE A REASONABLY PRICED CL FOR THOSE WHO CAN'T AFFORD A REAL ONE AT THIS TIME. lAMBORGHINI AND BENTLEY HAVE DONE THE SAME AND NOBODY IS KNOCKING THEM
