You've got to be kidding right? Discount a brand new of the drawing board car, because it has 38 miles!!! This will never happen in a million years & don't think I say this because I work for a dealer. I think most people on this board will agree. Plus, what will not taking the car do for the perspective owner, the dealer is not going to have a hard time getting rid of this car & the person who order the car will have to wait again to get a car. BAD IDEA!!!

I'm really pleased with the experience so far, including the dealer treatment. The only thing they couldn't quite figure out was the keyless go sometimes refusing to work if the car was approached with two keys, but other times working normally anyway. While it is somewhat complex (at first blush) the voice-activated command system seems fascinating, though I wonder if you guys use these after the first few days (last CLK didn't have it).
Still haven't been able to program the garage door opener, but at least it's there (and did follow the instructions..).
Also, it was interesting hearing sales people tell customers they had to wait many months for a 320 at sticker, or over a year or more for a 500; as I would not have thought there would be that long a wait. Maybe those of us who got them already are indeed lucky; or MB has some of the greatest marketing tactics around. A friend who sells Lexus said they don't even offer voice activated cellular like this, and thought the new CLK more sophisticated than anything they have to offer at this point. My suspision is that the real competition will be next year's 600 series BMW, but my BMW experience isn't one of constant reliablity. MB has been.
cheers...and congrads to all with the new CLK's!

Did you get the garage door opener thingy on your rear view mirror? Mine did not have it!!

11.25 miles of mine when delievery, 38 ? there might be a
short test run of this car.because so many buyers want a test
and lack of demo car this moment.

To my surprise, too. there're always "ugly" pcs without any
"logo" on the calipers. they did for the front this time.
Even the AMG model, the logo only shows on the front calipers
and leave the rear "ugly"
The car was delivered yesterday and I drove it early this morning, so I don't think your 'test drive' theory is possible... Maybe some guy at the dealership took it for a spin last night after work and drove it to the city and came back...
I would definitely have to talk to the dealer about this and the four ugly holes on the front bumper!!!
Mercedes-Benz tends to excessively test the newer models more so than the long running models. Every 100 or so off the assembly line will be extensively tested. The 38 miles on your care is infact part of the production process.
Unless the car was used for test drives or something of that nature, a discount is nowhere in reach.
Someone on the C-Class forum who bought a new C230k Coupe received their brand new car with over 250 miles on the odometer, this was one of the first C230k's to reach the north american shores. The reason given by both the dealership and MBUSA directly is what I stated above.
It is not uncommon to receive a Mercedes-Benz with a mileage of only 38 miles. It is very rare you will receive a car with little or no mileage on it from any automobile company. I do know that when you purchase a Corvette, it has zero miles on it.
Congratulations on your new car! Enjoy.
Unless you found a condom, empty beer cans...forget the 38 miles.
As long as it is under 50, don't worry be happy!

My CLK 500 had 12 miles. Sounds like the salespeople demo'd it.
my last E-class loaner, had just been returned by a local bad-boy, b-ball star (so i was told), known for having had some run-ins with the authorities.
although the car had been well-cleaned by the shop, i was still somewhat apprehensive about taking possession for fear of what a cop might find during a routine stop.
i hadn't been stopped for a very long time, but i was nervous just the same. so i looked through the glovebox, ashtrays, pockets and under the seats. clean enough. fortunately, i wasn't stopped anyway.

Maybe the salesguy took out the cute frontdesk girl at the dealership for a quickie and a few beers and by the time they returned, it had 38 miles on it.
My vehicle came with 20 miles on it. It is very common for the salespeople to drive them as well as the delivery people. (to get themselves more familiar with the vehicle) I will admit that I would not be at all surprised if there is a little joy riding taking place. What can you do? Think about it as someone valet parket your car a few times- or a few hundred times!
My vehice has the garage opener buttons- all of them should. Are the four holes someone was referring to Parktronic? Why would there be 4 holes in the front of the car?
