Is the CLK considered a chick car?

Not trying to cause trouble...just asking a question. I'm considering a Black CLK500 but a buddy of mine is giving me grief with the "It's a chick car!"

Thoughts..?

I really want the CLS500, however at 194 inches long, it won't fit in my gargage..

Nah. I see tons of guys driving them up here in the Northeast. While the old SLK had that monicker - I see mostly guys driving CLKs around here.

Nope, its not a chick car. Tell your buddy the K in CLK stands for "Kids" car.

OK, Thanks for the input. I'm back onboard. I'm not sure how a 302 Horsepower Coupe in AMG skin could be a chick car. Maybe he was thinking of the SLK..

Thanks,
Mike

I always thought the 208 CLK was a girls car for some reason. Even the 209s have a slightly higher percentage of female buyers. But I agree, he probably was thinking of the SLK.

Correction: CLK=Chicky-Like Kruiser
And, FYI...ML=Manly-Like

I don't know...I see a lot of woman driving MLs and every other SUV you can think of! With that said, the new ML so much nicer then the older truck based model in my opinion. very sharp inside and out.

I wouldn't say its a chick car. Now a VW bug with the little vase in it.......that's a chicks car. Or if you are a guy driving it you better be a hairdresser. Not that there's anything wrong with that. lol

Definitely not a chick's car, but the w209 style is more feminine that the w208.

It's not a chick car, especially since your getting a 500 with the AMG body styling. If you really want to get manly, add an Eisenmann exhaust

That's also my take on the 208 to 209 design transition.

Regarding the origional question, it's limited to the Cabrio and is a regional thing: East of the Mississippi, no. West of the Mississippi, somewhat. In Southern California, totally.

I agree with Rocky. I saw once a girl driving a white CLK320 on the freeway. She was okay looking but the car made her look HOT!!!. Girls should think about us the same way though. CLK = hot people, males & females.

This was my dilemma when buying my CLK. Actually I do think it is a bit feminine. To offset that notion, I made sure to buy a CLK500 and then embellished it with some 19 inch HRE's.

Before I got my CLK, I saw a lot of guys with them and they were hot.....the guys weren't bad either Now that I have my own 208, guys always compliment me on the car and wish it were theirs! Either way and no matter the year--at the end of the day, it's a fierce piece of machinery!
Just my opinion.....
