2005 clk500 oil change ?
can anyone tell me how to change my 2005 clk500 engine oil. I am told it has no drain plug or dip stick. All I have heard is use the dip stick tube to get the oil out with a topsider but being unable to locate it myself I checked with a local transmission shop and using their manuals we could not figure it out. Looks like it has a split oil pan housing with the lowest being at the rear and if going thru the oil fill cap(up front) it is unaccessable which leaves me wondering what i am missing. can someone give me how and where you extract the egine oil.
thanks,
thanks,

CLK-350 Coupe Cadet Blue.. YE YE
I used to work at an oil change a few months ago on my weekends. From what i observed when they changed the oil on my car, is when they went underneith, there is a big black cover that needs to be removed to get to the filter', and to dump out the old oil. If you live in the new york area, PM me, ill give u the adress for the oil change which i used to work at.

It's pretty easy, and I think that if you search you'll find a post that I made last year showing a pic of the extraction tube if you want to see a picture. You either need to jack up the car, remove the skid plate, and undo the drain plug (never confirmed by me since I use an extractor but I was given a replacement washer for it when I picked up a filter), or you need to just use an oil extractor and pump it out through the top. There is is no dip stick inside the extraction tube, but there is a tube and it has a red cap. It is located towards the back of the engine compartment on the left hand side between the air filter housing and the firewall to the passenger compartment. Drop an oil extractor inlet tube into it and you can pump all the oil out. But keep in mind that there is also another tube that I think is for the transmission fluid closer to the centerline of the car and you definitely do NOT want to mess with that by accident.
