Just saw a white 2003 CLK 500
I went up to the otehr MB dealer in my area, and they were prepping a new white CLK 500. My wife, who knows very little about cars and thinks that I am obsessed to the point of needing therapy, stated that she hoped that the white CLK wasn't the car I was "ga-ga" over because it didn't look that neat. The white just didn't really make the car.
Once we went inside the dealer, she saw a black one, and said that it looked 100 x better. With the black one, she showed a glimmer of the obsession that I now have for the car.
White worked on the W208, but see you must see it in person for the W209.
Also, the lighter colors make the car look higher. I could fit 6 to 7 fingers between the 17" wheels on the front, and 5 to 6 fingers on the back. In comparison, I can only fit 3-4 on the W208 model. I really hope AMG puts out some springs to lower the car!!!!

Not to sound biased but the darker colors do look the best. Everywhere I go- people ask me what I'm driving? or, Where did I get it? In black, for example, it looks far more refined and heavy while the white makes it seem very light. I would love to see a white one with H&R's, 19"s, and some tint. Then the car would be PHENOMENAL. Just looks far too sparce as the CLK500 in white... No weight. Not like the CLK430 in white- which looks alot burlier. My 2 cents...

Benzo--thanks for all the feedback. I am just so confused now... I think the W208 looked HOT in white, thats why I went for white in the W209. I just need to see one in person I guess. I used the MB website to look at a W209 in white (when you build your own in the future car section). Thought it looked nice there.... I dont know!!!!!!!!

The white one needs something...
I agree with Benzo's assessment 100%...
Benzo, did you get yours from MB of Tampa Bay? I used travel to Tampa every week, and would stop by MB of TB. They have one of the most impressive/costly inventories I have ever seen. One day, they had 8 CL's lined up, with two being 600's and one 55. That had to be over $1,000,000 of inventory right there...

Thanks Benzo!! I test drove a used 430 a few weeks ago to see what it drove like. Although it was nice, I didn't care for the steering. But I have heard that it is much better in the 500. I have a Acura 3.2 CL Typs S, and must say that I really like this car. I probably wouldn't even be considering a Benz if it weren't for the Acura. I always have owned GM cars, and thought thta they were fine. Got behind the wheel of the Type S and was in love. Now, I want rear wheel drive and soprt/luxury. I think I will love it. It would be a first for me.

The CL/S w/navigation is in many ways more luxurious, reliable and offers more "actual" value, but -- it's not as high in the "perceived" MB value.

Z-Dude---Thanks man for goin out and taking those pics of the white CLK500. I really appreciate that!!! I do like it, but it is so hard to tell since it hasn't been touched since being delivered. I guess I have a lot to consider. This will be my everyday driver to work and all, and a darker color just wont work for me. I have had silver for the past 2+ years, so I wanted a change. Always loved white cars....who knows!!
But, thanks again man!!!!!!!!
