The C, CLK, CLA and E has flaps that open up exposing the mount points where you screw in the rails. These are OEM rails and then you can mount varies attachments like bike, ski, snowboard etc... I was thinking to upgrade to a CL but it does not have them. As I bike a lot it was what stopped me from the upgrade. Its also handy for transporting things like lumber
