2004 CLK500, 78 6.9,
Ok, after having them on for a bit, I think the heat shields really help. I, of course, can't feel any extra horsepower from them, but I've gotten compliments from my Mercedes mechanic at the dealer who told me it's a great idea, and my engine temp seems to stay in the bottom half of the guage, as opposed to the middle, where it used to stay.
Now if I can just figure out why my damn power steering fluid seems to be disapearing to. I put an Evosport pulley set on it, and I know when I take it to the dealer, they're going to reject my warranty claim. Damnit. I think I remember a TSB for it though.

Re: "Imelda" are those 19" or 20's
I Have 20x8.5 in the front (et+29) mounted on 245/30r20 and 20x10 (et+29) mounted on 285/25R20! the tires are Pirelli P Zero Neros (Very Quiet)
p.s. no fenders are rolled and no rubbing at all!

no way. they claim they cant fit 20's on the clk. what big liars! thats an awesome look. you should definately get a really low bodykit to compliment the wheels. hows the ride handling on it? have you changed the suspension at all? i have 19's and lowered with brabus springs. and the ride is horrible.

The handling is definetly alot better...and the braking is also alot better. We like the factory lines of the car so no intentention of a bodykit. However We plan on installing a coil over system to lower the height without much sacrifice to the ride.-we hope!

I Hate to Rain on your Parade But Those Axis Milanos that your waiting for...Not a good choice.-my husband worked in the axis building in santa fe springs,ca. (My husband Managed www.wheelstudio.com which is owned by the wife of the owner of axis wheels which is the retail outlet for axis wheels) and noticed axis Milanos cracking straight down the middle of the outer. You should contact Mr. Mark Singer (562) 906-9898 and see if any recalls are issued. Mr Mark Singer said he noticed a pattern that when they cracked (Axis Milanos) it was on heavy cars. The question is what is considerd heavy? Example: My husband noticed another model wheel distributed from axis wheels that seem to show the same cracked wheel results. That wheel was installed on a audi A4. Heavy?
My Husband was "Terminated at Will" from Wheel Studio by the Owner of Axis Wheels. and by his Wife. The owner of Wheel Studio. on the Unemployment Claim Form they explained that the employee was slow at giving refunds to customers. That was not one of his duties. When my Husband Questioned them why he was being terminated, There Answer..." We dont have to tell you!" California Honors the "At Will to Terminate" Employers rights. My Husband believes (The Termination) was because he did not feel right selling the axis Milano wheel When he confronted the owner of "Axis" (Husbands Friend for 12 years) About his Personal Feelings regarding safety issues on the Axis Milano Wheel, Before he left to Germany. On the Third day that he returned from Germany he was "terminated at will" (he had just recieved a 30% pay increase in October 2004 after his employee evaluation results) My husband feels that Mr. Mark Singer, Deep down feels the same way. (about the axis milanos, not the termination) Sorry for the length of this reply but i think this member needs to be Notified of a possible problem with the purchase of his wheels i just hope that modifying the paint on the wheel does not void his warranty. (90 days limited warranty)

And we did notice a diffrence in the ride quality on this particular car. Funny as it seems the G35 still gets more compliments than the Benz or the BMW. I guess the average consumers dream car is still made in japan. We switched to European Cars and definetly noticed the upgrade in quality.
Luckily the Nero's are a quality tire available in the correct size. If you feel fine in the CLK which is shorter than the E class im sure the people driving E's on the same size wont complain either.
