My Two CLKs
Just would like to say hello and post a pic of my two modest CLKs. They are both humble V6 models. One is a 2005 CLK320 and one is a 2008 CLK350. They're used mostly for family outtings and ferrying kids, so power wasn't a prime consideration, although the CLK320 and it's lack of throttle urgency does bug me at times. For my speed pursuits, I have a 997, and my regular drive is a CLS, which is more spirited. However, all my cars are stock because I haven't had much time/inclination to tinker lately. I used to dabble in 911s.
Thanks for having a look. Happy driving!

Nice set of 209's you have there, with the CLS and 997 it sounds like you have quite the stable

Thanks very much. There are three drivers in the family, so please take that into consideration. Should a teen be driving a CLK? Probably not, but he wants a M3 and my wife would be ever so willing to oblige, so a slow poke CLK320 is plenty good. My wife is terror on wheels personified and a certified lead foot, so I've tried to stay away from AMG. She took my previous 996TT to 120 mph on a 55 mph highway and took a photo of the speedo with her iPhone to verify. Needless to say, after a couple of tickets, I got rid of the 996TT
I myself can use a GT2-RS.. perhaps one day

I used to buy those Recaro Young Sports and had two of them. They are modeled on the Recaro Sportster. Those were almost $300 and weighed a ton. They are supposed to have side impact protection and had some sort of metal bar protection from all sides. Felt like steel beams because they were incredibly large, heavy and put large dents in all my back seats, which I hated, and I hated moving them from car to car because those are downright obnoxious. Never mind the kid and the fast food. Worry about the damn car seat!!
The Recaro Vivos cost only $80 and have a "Made in China" plasticky light feel to them (which is exactly the same as all the competition), and they are indeed made in China. But I could buy four of those outright and not flinch about cost. They are also a whole lot more attractive looking and don't put those permanent creases in the leather of my back seats.

CLK200 Kompressor - Avant Garde
Picked this up last week and I'm more than happy with it. No mods, just stock at the moment.
Looking to upgrade the stereo, must keep the steering wheel controls and display.
Going to fit some 744 brilliant silver rear parking sensors
Need to get the alloys shot blasted and powder coated
Contemplating an ECU remap also. Around £200 to up it from a 163ps to 191ps (still a baby compared to most others here I realise)

Reminds me of my 320 before my amg package.
The 200K is a nice engine, testdrove one 200K before I bought my 320. I liked the whine from the supercharger at full throttle
