Just ordered Nitrous Kit

I finally did it. I pulled the trigger and will be getting a nitrous setup some time next week. Now I can finally all my competition, lol.
I am getting it done by a respected tuner. It is supposed to be a wet shot. I am going to start with a 50 shot and then see how high I can safely get it (they think a 75 shot should be good). I should have dyno charts and everything, so I'll let you guys know how it goes.

You are the MAN! About time someone here puts on some pants. I’ve wanted to do it also. Let me know how it goes. 50 shot should be very safe on the V8.

I am getting the most basic nitrous kit possible. I told the tuner to buy the stuff for me, he said its about $800 shipped. Installation is going to be another $800. I am getting it installed so that everything is going to be totally hidden this way when I take my car in for service, I disconnect the bottle and unplug the lines. They are also going to run my car on the dyno and check to see that my car is running right and tune it if necessary. The dyno run and tuning (if needed) will be $250. All in all, it's going to be $1850 installed and everything.

In another month or two, I'll bring it in for a purge, bottle warmer, and all that other fun stuff. I'm just on a tight budget, plus I'm trying to do mods that the dealer doesn't know about.

Right now I'm just waiting for parts to come in. I was told it would take a full day to get everything installed. They also said they would start me with something weaker, like a 50 shot to see how my car handles it. Then they will raise it up and see how much it can take.

The only thing I have to figure out is where am I going to get the switches located? They said they could do something where I flip a switch, and the buttons on my steering wheel become nitrous buttons, but they still have to see if they can do it. A center console switch seems like it would be hard to access. Remember, I'm trying as hard as possible to hide this stuff so I can't have a big switch that says NOS on it right on the dashboard, Lol.

Thanks, I'll keep all of you updated.

i say just like a kill switch, it would have to be hard to locate.... i dont know of any good place to put it in this car, but i do have one suggestion how about under the leather where the shifter is located? there should be space somewhere for a switch, my friend has a kill switch in that area

Not sure if it’s true. But a guy with a CLK430 on Nitrous told me his switch was connected to the button of the gas peddle. You know when you push the gas all the way down you feel a click? Well that click was his spray. Not sure how it was done.

Yeah, thats a Wide Open Throttle switch. It sounds like a good idea, just gotta be careful.

I spoke with my tuner, they said the Nitrous should be there Mon or Tues. Can't wait.

Get an updated steering wheel with the paddle shifters on it, and connect them to it.

Too much money bro. Plus, my car is leased LOL...

How much would one of those new steering wheels like the one in the CLK63 cost, and would it be compatible?

I had nitrous on my WS6 a few years back before putting a blower on it.

1. Use the WOT switch. It will save your engine. Normally the switch is attached at the throttle body and triggered when the butterfly is opened all the way. That way nitrous only sprays at WOT. The button way is so dangerous. So many people have blown their engine to bits by still having the button pressed when they let off the gas. Nitrous with no fuel pressure means destruction.

2. With the cost of these cars, I would definately use 2 nitrous solenoids in series as a safe guard. May cost an extra $100 or so, but its so worth it.
On my TA, after a quick run I let off the gas, but still heard some hissing. I immediately turned off the car. The intake was frosted due to the solenoid being stuck open due to a piece of dirt. Cost me a rebuild. I have the piston right here on my desk as a souvenir. The second solenoid would have still closed and saved my engine.

After that, I vowed to stay away from N20, but I know I will use it again when I get my E55. With how much it costs to mod these cars, by far this is the best bang for the buck mod.

Thanks for the advice man. I will definitely tell the tuner about it. I've also heard about window switches that shut the nitrous off at certain RPM's.

The nitrous parts came in yesterday. Unfortunately, the shop had 49 cars ahead of me so I will be getting the nitrous installed on Monday. This is wayyy too exciting, lol. I'll make sure to take plenty of pics and I'll try to video the car while its on the dyno.

Does anybody know what a stock CLK500's rwhp is supposed to be? I want to compare it to my numbers to see how much of a difference the ECU, exhaust, and air filters made. And then of course, we'll see what the N2O kicks it up to.

Have fun, its addictive.
You will find yourself driving around burning up gas looking for victims.
I always had two bottles. One in the car, and one in the garage always full.

I'm in Westchester county, north of the Bronx. I can get my car up to like 130 any time. i95, hutch, cross county expway, sprain brook parkway, saw mill, major deegan i87, bronx river...they are all great roads to open your car up. I especially like 684 with the wide and open lanes. Streets aren't too bad either. Gotta watch out for the 5-0 though.

NOTE: This was all done in video games like Need For Speed. Keep an eye out for those police GTO's. Lol

Go for a 125 shot. If your engine doesn't blow you'll have a super fast car. If it does blow, then you get a stronger engine. You have fun either way

And I'll def keep you guys updated. I brought my car in yesterday and it should be finished today.

Got it!

They installed a wet 75 shot. The button is the horn, there is a toggle switch under the dash that switches the horn button's functions from nitrous to horn. The guy told me my engine has more potential and it can take a 100 shot no prob.

The car runs nice, when I hit the nitrous at about 3500rpms I can feel the nitrous kick in and the car starts to really pick up speed. I didn't do any timed runs or anything but I just took it out for a test ride and I hit 80 extremely quick. Its really a lot of fun and very addictive. Here are some pics of the nitrous. I just got pics of it in the trunk because it is very well hidden in the engine, I'll obviously take more pics later. Keep in mind that I am going to put some kind of carpeting over the wood.

Here is a pic of the dyno. The gains look good but the hp and tq numbers look very low. They didn't run it using dyno mode, just ESP off, maybe that's why? Maybe it was just a dyno that uses lower numbers than normal. What do you guys think?
