saw my first W209 today
I was walking in front of my house today when I saw a Desert Silver CLK320 cruise by. Even though it's larger in almost every dimension than the W208, it looks much smaller in person (even smaller than the C-coupe). I think this is due to the much sleeker bodywork. I'd say the difference is comparable to the how both the new W203 C-sedans and the new R230 SLs appear smaller than the previous versions due to more flowing (less bulky) body lines (I'm pretty sure both of these are slightly larger as well).
On the whole, I like the new design.

Yes, it looks smaller.I park my CLK right beside a C-class, everyday I pickup
it, see it and feel it's smaller than a C.
Not true I know, but it looks smaller IN THE FRONT.
Compare it with a '02 Civic, mine is larger now
