difference of gas octane

Our owner manuals did say that our cars need premium gas. A typical gas station in Toronto offers 3 grades: 87, 89 and 91. The price difference between 87 and 91 is 11 cents (CAN) which is significant. Sunoco stations do offer 93 Octane gas.
To be more clear, the price difference between 87 and 91 in Toronto is 11 cents (CAN) per litre. This corresponds to about 10-15% difference depending on gas prices.
I travel frequently between Montreal and Toronto and I usually goes 120 KMH constant speed all the way for 550KM. Do I really need premium gas for this purpose? If I use lower grade gas for these trips, will it hurt the CLK engine?
