Aftermarket Radio?
Anybody know if it is possible to replace the stock radio face with an aftermarket one? I heard that because of fiber optics it is impossible to touch the stock radio. I like the ones that have the LCD screens pop out and would love to have it installed in my car.

from what i know, you are able to change the stereo to aftermarket with no ill effects. I had wanted to get the avic-z1 since i dont have the navi, but i couldnt find any aftermarket kits that were double din. I think i am gonna go to a custom shop and see how much they would want to fabricate one. As for a single din flip out lcd screen, metra makes a pretty nice kit for the 2005 c and clk classes. (http://www.installer.com/photos/99-8712.jpg).... a couple of guys at the w203 forums have done it to their 2005s and since we have the same setup i dont see why it wont work.
