Check the wire harness at the base of the driver's seat - you probably broke the plastic fastener with your foot and the wire came loose. Once this wire is disconnected, neither will move.

I love this forum

Several months ago my power steering adjuster stopped working. A couple days ago, while running a search on warranties, I came across this thread. Tried my power seats and they weren't working either. Voila, it was the wiring harness! Fixed the problem from advice I just happened across in a three year old post!

Thank you Frisco! That's exactly what happened to my car few days ago, and I was little bit worry, but I just touched the harness this morning, and it is working again.

Hi Frisco, I have no power seats, however my steering wheel is much harder to turn than the other CLK. Could it be the same issue?

Where is this power seat wiring located?

I’m having the same problem. My power seats and steering wheel adjuster isn’t working. I have no idea where this “magical case” is. I’m hoping it’s just a loose wire but I don’t even know where to begin. Can someone help?

What am I supposed to be doing here?

With mine, it was a little more than the wiring harness, it was the Module itself. I have an iCar-MBII and was not able to even communicate with the module. That module runs the driver's seat, the steering wheel, and the seat belt extender.
$50 later on Ebay I was up and running again. The iCar even lets you see the motors turning via Hall Effect Sensors. The iCar-MBII was the best $150 I ever spent and it pays for itself every time something goes wrong with the electronics.

Hello ALL,
My W209 driver seat adjustment (forward and backward) stopped. I checked all fuses following the fuse legend and all were intact. I also checked all connection under the seat and they seem to all be intact.
The steering adjuster works as well as the seat belt extender.
This leads me to suspect that the module is the issue. Is this a simple Unplug/Plug process?
Are there other areas I should look into?

Perhaps not so astonishingly I have the same problem. Going to replace the seat switch itself although I am not optimistic. Whats weird is that my auto settings for both the seat and wheel work just fine.

I am happy to report that the switch replacement actually solved my problem...Unfortunately it is truly a PITA job.
