How to Disable the Auto-Dimmer

Hey, this is my first post, and i own a 2003 clk320. I was wondering if the auto-dimmer for the rear view mirror can be disabled... or even unplugged


any help would be appreciatted.

Disconnecting the power might do it (though not sure what state it goes to when not powered). Alternatively, it operates off a photoelectric cell in the top corner - you could try simply covering this with a small circle of tape.

the question i would have is if i disconnect the power, will the garage door openers still function properly?

because i like to see what cars are behind me... auto dimmers are something i cannot stand. just the other night, there was a cop behind me, and i didnt know it because i couldnt make out the headlights. fortunatly, the cop didnt pull me over
