dash kit

Is there anywhere to get a dash kit and wiring harness for a 2003 CLK500? I'd like to put in a indash dvd player. If there is, is it hard to install?

I have a 2 DIN dash kit for your CLK. I have a new Metra 99-8711 that I will sell for $25USD (shipped).

The dvd player I have is a single din. Will this work? What about a wiring harness? If yours wont work, where can I get a kit that will work?

Yes, a single DIN will work. The bottom DIN comes with a shelf (looks like your OEM).

I have the facia kit only (no wiring harnesses). If you search, there is much information on wiring harnesses, etc. I depends on your application, but many with an OEM Bose use VW harness kits and aerial adapters.

Question...if you have the bose system, can you still use that harness??
I don't want to put a new amp in... just want to use the existing amp.
I've asked this before in the audio section... no real help there

I am no expert on this, mind you, but I believe to use the same Bose amp from a new HU, the original configuration needs to connect to the amp via conventional cabling, not fibre optics. My HU in my 04 CLK is a CM-1330, so is connected to the bose amp via fibre optics...which makes it impossible to use with another HU. I believe the CM-1010 (or something like that) is connected via conventional cabling, and these can be swapped out with a VW harness....
Don't quote me, but I think this is the issue.....

My stereo isnt a bose. At least I dont see anywhere that says bose? It has a tape player in the head unit and a cd changer in the glovebox. What will I need to put in my indash dvd player? The kit for sale about says its for a c240 on sites I checked it out, are they the same for my 2003 CLK500?

so the 8711 that is supposedly for the c-class will work for the clk as well... i am looking at putting a double din unit in the car... can i do it if i am also willing to sacrifice my bose amp and add aftermarket audio as well?
