Does anyone know if the CLK will get the new DVD based nav system this year ? It will be available Q1 2003 for the E-class but the dealer does not know about any other vehicles. Does this mean only the E-class gets the superior COMMAND system for 2003 and all the other MB's get the old CD based system ?

none of the US command systems can or will play video without after market mods. It is against the law here in the US.

 

dvd should be available late spring,,
they also will retrofit ml's if consumers would like to put dvd systems in older ml's.dont know how far back the retrofit will go though.

 

Sources said that is not the hardware thats not available but is the software. All CLK sold in Japan that are equipped with COMMAND hav DVD Nav, check out the Japanese website, they look the same as our COMMAND too!

 

Im whaiting a delivery of a CLK320 (w/Comand - TV) and to me the big question is the size of the screen.

The new Comand screen is Bigger than the older, i receive my CLK on December, what size have my Screen?

I hope to receive the new Comand System because i have TV tuner, i contact the Mercedes Portugal and they not now.

Is the Command system on the CLK 500 worth the $2,100. What do you guys think?

Mercedes Command definitely don't worth $2100, maybe $1000 or less; they're pretty useless compare to Japanese DVD Nav. Even the new DVD Command on the E500 are crap too!

But I do recommend you to get the command though because it looked so much better with it.
