Good news for trunk spoilers!!

Hey CLK family--I just got my trunk spoiler installed yesterday and I must admit that I am 100% satisfied with the overall style...not too tall but just clean (reminds me of the M3 trunk spoiler)

(I will post some pix--by this weekend--it's raining here in Cali so I gotta wait)

I kept going back and forth with the idea of adding the trunk spoiler, but finally pulled the trigger....I got a great deal!! I spent under $300. for a custom made spoiler, fitted, primed and painted, then installed!!! Theres a place in Southern California (Newport Beach/Costa Mesa area) called Wet Works Garage...great install...

http://www.wetworksgarage.com/index.htm

they do a lot of body & paint work for all cars...

Like I said, I'll post some pix later this weekend....

How does it compare to this one at formymercedes.com for $289 painted? I purchased a factory spoiler from a group by several years ago and installation was very easy with double sided super sticky tape.

I checked into theirs as well, but my final decision was based on the 'lower rise' of the spoiler (with Wet works Garage)...The spoiler @ formymercedes was a little too high for my taste...don't get me wrong, they both make nice spoilers, but I wanted to go with a clean and low spoiler...I feel that the one I got is really close to the M3 spoiler--very subtle but adds to the car...

The one from formymercedes.com is probably closer to stock since LB went with a custom one. Formymercedes is a great site. I've done business with them and they are on point.

Pix of spoiler

Ok...the weather cleared up a little...

as you can see, the trunk spoiler is not too tall...just enough to give me an extra look at the back...

I paid $225--since I brought my car there, I didn't have to pay an extra $15. for shipping...

I thought of the same thing...after doing research on spoilers (BMW, MBenz, Audi) I was informed that a high percentage of the spoilers were installed with 3M double sided tape...

After mine was installed, I think I waited about 30 mins before I drove home--I jumped on the freeway as well--got home and the spoiler was still there...the next day it rained and I drove the car--still no problem. I feel the tightness of the spoiler on the trunk each time I finish a drive and it is secure.
