my spoiler was stolen!!!
I got back to my car after a midterm and found that someone had stolen my spoiler!!! I was shocked to see that the spoiler was held on only by double sided tape, so removing it wasn't much of an issue.
It sickens me to think the person who stole it may very well be another CLK owner....
Anyone know how much it will cost to replace this?

It could have been someone who stole it to sell it, however I would make a mental note of others driving the 209 CLK in the same color around school and see who gets a spoiler all of a sudden.

I didn't realize that there was enough of a market in used CLK spoilers to warrant someone ripping it off in the middle of a Manhattan street in the rain, with campus security cruising around. I can only imagine that pulling it off like that must have damaged or scratched it.
I figured that if someone can afford a CLK, it wouldn't be worth it for them to get caught stealing car parts on the street.
Since my car was leased, I don't know if I need to fix it with a genuine part as opposed to aftermarket. Anyone know how much a part from MB would set me back?

Last year someone actually stole my left hand side mirror! I noticed it right away when I got into the car. I could not find any broken mirrir nearby.
Of course, the stupid thief did not know how to remove the mirror properly. The side mirror housing was damaged and it costed me about $800 CAN just in parts.

Yikes!
part + paint + labor = empty wallet.
You think the dealer will notice the difference between an aftermarket spoiler vs. genuine spoiler assuming the paint is correct? I doubt they will pull it off to check for the "genuine MB part" label, but you never know...

they wont notice the difference.
When i reapplyed my double stick tape my body shop took the spoiler off in 2 seconds with this metal wire they stuck underneith.
It litterally takes 2 seconds to take off.
I am sorry to hear that

Im sorry to hear that your spoiler was stolen. Unfortunetly, i do not think you can get a aftermarket spoiler and return the car because the difference is noticeable. The aftermarkets have a wave like texture to them and can be noticed from any angle.
