CLK 320
Exclamation So here's the deal regarding my lighting situation.

I have a clk320 w209. I don't have Bi-Xenons, I have the regular Halogen bulb and assembly. I WANT HIDs but don't know exactly what to do at the moment.

1st option shell out around $1350 or more and get the original Bi-Xenons.

2nd option spend around $150-300 and get an HID kit and put it into the existing reflector housing. I know some of you are going to tell me that this is the cheap way and that it will create too much glare and what not, but lets just put that thought away for the moment.

Personally, I am leaning more towards the 2nd option because I don't want to spend too much money on this upgrade. Secondly I dont like the look of Bi-Xenons, I like the look of the regular reflector housing, looks more classy in my opinion. I think I am the only one that thinks Bi-xenon makes the car look a little weird from the front end. (Unless you have the AMG bumper>>I dont)

Also, If i do go with the second option, what kit should I get in order to avoid getting any malfunctions or melt downs? Any helpful tips will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

-G

Have you searched this yet? I remember someone having the same issue. If not in this forum than the C-class forum. Try doing a search first for a faster answer.

I have probably searched each and every post regarding hids on this site but still have not found a definite answer. It seems to me that malfunctions are a hit or miss with some individuals. I just want to make sure with other fellow W209 owners to know if they have had any issues putting in an hid conversion kit in their existing reflector based housing(non Bi-Xenon), and if they can share any thoughts.

As far as I know ItalionStallion is the only person on the clk forums with an hid kit in the non bi-xenons housing. That is the exact upgrade im looking to do but would like more info on how it was installed and how the malfunction issues were resolved, if any.

CLK 500
I have a set of bi-xenons that will be available on Monday if you're interested. I'm parting out my CLK500 -- would consider $750. I had them installed by Steve from mbenz.nl less then a year ago -- they have less then 15,000 miles on them.

Thanks!
