W209 Brake pad replacement?
Does anyone have an idea how hard is it to change the brake pads for the CLK500?Do I need any special tools?Any help is much appreciated!!

17mm deep socket/breaker bar/torque wrench/hammer/punch/screw driver

Thanks for the help!I have done many Honda/Acura brake jobs before and it's pretty easy.But I didn't know if Mercedes required and special tools.So all I need is normal 17mm socket and not them torx socket?

Where are you getting the pads/rotors from? I figured I'd throw on new brakes all around on my 209 prior to selling it....any good deals out there for some new binders?

LOL! I got my brake pads changed out already.Took me about 20-30mins.It was even easier than doing a brake job on them Hondas/Acura.

I've noticed on my 2004 clk500, alot of brake dust. is this normal for german cars? or did the previous owner put on cheap pads?

normal, it sucks, but you get better brakes it was the same for my bmw and now my clk

oh if you want less brake dust try ceramic break pads/ achebono? (sp) works good to give off less dust

I'm using the EBC green stuff,and that got rid of the brake dust by 70-80%.
