It's a tiny bit interesting to see which members are old enough to have paid for their cars themselves, but, other than that, it's depressing.

There certainly are some member on this site who have car bought for them but comming from a guy who was paid for all his cars his whole life (with legit earnings), I have a lot of respect for some of the younger members here that are doing the same.

I guess that's somewhat my point: teenagers that somehow earned the $20-30K (or more) themselves would likely be the exception (and exceptional, I might add). I needed lots of help buying my first few cars, first from parents, then from banks. Only after buying a second home could I rationalize that first, pre-owned MB. Nothing but pre-owned MB's since, happily.
