Phone Connection in my CLK270 CDI
Hi,
I just bought a used CLK270 CDI (2004) and it has been 'pre-wired' for telephone.
It has a connection in the armrest but no cradle.
It has a Comand unit.
I need some good/accurate advice.
Can I attach a bluetooth unit to it ??
Does the car need to be re-programmed (STAR) so that it recognises the phone kit ??
Thanks.

You can get a bluetooth "puck" but it needs to be plugged into a cradle. The puck connects to your bluetooth phone wirelessly, and then it pretends it is a phone to the car. But you need a cradle I think.

Thanks for that.
It has a UHI (or MHI???) connection in the armrest but no actual cradle.
I thought the bluetooth puck plugs into that.
I have a Blackberry that I want to connect to.
Is there only 1 Bluetooth part available or do I need a specific one ??
If someone could provide me with a part number that would be ideal.
I would like to order one asap.
Thanks again !

give them a phone and give them your car details, they will then confirm whether it will work or not, but it will lol.

The MHI/UHI thing is different, and better, since I believe that is the more modern version, able to connect to more phones, but I don't know more than that about it.
I have a 2004 CLK500 Cab, and it came with a Motorolla V60s, and it sits in a custom cradle. I thought about getting the $300 bluetooth puck to match my other phone, but I instead just use the V60s, which is mediocre.
Go ask your dealer what your options are. They'll give you free information for the chance at a sale.
