This thread is dedicated to Anybody and Everybody who wants to talk about suspension. Please share your horror stories with different brands and what brand has worked good for you. Maybe you can help some people like me who want to drop it but are very IFFY. If you can post some pics so we could see the finished product. Please let us know what has worked for you and how its affected your ride and your car.

Do not get coilovers!.... When i had my clk350 i first dropped it on springs which i did love but opted to coilovers because i wanted a more aggresive stance... Although it looked great the compromise i made for the comfort was horrible... Because of the limited suspension travel the cars chasis soaked up the bumps and vibrations... I honestly did not feel like i was driving a benz at all haha.. .But with the springs the drop was barely noticeable but it did look clean and not too ballsy for a benz... But i only got coilovers after i had installed a Brabus front, Brbaus rims, and a amg rear... A regular clk dropped might look a bit strange? hahaha... But yeah main thing was ride and comfort but if thats not a big deal to you go for it!.... But i highly doubt ur in highschool like i am so yeah good luck peace

Which do you have installed now springs or coilovers? When you had coilovers how much was the drop? I'm definitely more about the ride and comfort thats why I'm not sure. Do you have pics of your car from the side so we could see the drop? Also how big are those rims?

That would of been a nice deal, but the thread says he sold them already! I guess thats what people are recommending, the Koni shock and the H&R springs.

What coilovers did you have? I'm thinking about getting the KWs V2. I hear they provide a nice ride. They are pricey, but are worth it from what I hear. KW also has the V1s, but I've been told it's worth to spend the extra $300 for the V2s. That's a clean front bumper. I've been eyeing those for a while now, but I'm not sure if they are worth the price.

Thanks! It's dropped. The back is tucked in and looks clean. The front however still has almost 2 fingers between the tire and the fender. I am looking to get some KW V2s to get the front lower.

I used H&R. Unfortunately going to stiffer springs has made the ride different as compared to the stocks. You're going to feel the bumps a little more as the springs are stiffer. However, lowering the car gives it a little better handling and better airflow because it is lower. Do I regret lowering my car? Not one bit. Now if you want to spend some money, I hear coilovers give a more stock-like ride and you can adjust the ride height. The H&R springs installed cost $350, the KW coilovers installed will probably go about 2gs.

I have the Vogland Lowering Springs with stock shocks, feels the same as before. Has much better handling. Its really only after I changed the wheels and tires that the ride becomes worst.

H&R is usually pretty smooth, so not really bad. THe only thing that changes ride quality more is the fact that you have low profile tires. 30 series tires arent the fattest and do cause a bumpier ride. However, it is by NO means uncomfortable.
