how to remove highspeed limiter
i have a clk 350 and the top stop speed for the car is 155mph, but when i push my car to that speed it sticks on 135 mph and won't push any further. I hear that it is because of a computer limiting it. I was wondering if anyone would recommend any shops around Torrance, CA to remove that "limiter".

Only TWO ways to remove the speed limiter
1 Software from a decent tuner..(That WILL VOID the warranty on the ME control unit)
2 Remove it via the SDS aka Star (DEVELOPER STAR) Not the dealer sds star
contact steve at MBENZNL@hotmail if you want it done via the sds ..He will be in So Cal next month
And the prevs post is correct You WILL Need higher rated tires if you are going to play faster

Go into the ME control unit coding -> "Development Data" -> "Control Unit Adaptations" -> "Control Unit Adaptations (Variant Coding)" -> "Implicit Coding", then find parameter "0224 bis 0231". It's the VMax parameter and it can be set up to 240km/h (150mph).

When I got my ECU tuned, my tech said there is no longer any speed limiter. I have never been in a situation where I could actually push the 55 to max speed. Too much of a cruiser...

Yes, and ECU tune generally removes the speed limiter completely because you are literally writing a whole new program to the computer that simply does not have a limiter. Using the stock ECU code, there is a limit, but as Mark said, it can be increased from the stock 135mph using the "developer" version of SDS. The max appears to be 150 or 155mph. The dealers don't have this, but the hacked Chinese clone SDS/Xentry "C4" systems sold on eBay generally are the developer version. If not, there is a guy that sells the developer unlock key for about $40 (he posts here occasionally).

LOL my old thread is still alive. To answer my own question. You can remove the high speed limit with a reflash or custom tune ECU.

Tex5, that is correct. You can only go up to 240km/h via SDS, even in "developer" mode. You would need an ECU reflash (i.e. custom tune) to go beyond that. Most custom tunes generally remove the limit completely.
