For those of us without the factory Comand/Navi system. Where would you place your portable GPS unit? Stick on the windshield? Place it on a dashboard mount? Or clip it on the Air vent?

I have a dashboard mount for my Garmin nuvi. That way, I remove it when I leave the car. There is no mount on the windshield nor a tell-tale circle to alert thieves that there is a GPS in the car. I am afraid of vent mounts breaking the vent fins. Plus, I live in Florida so I need all of the air flow I can get.

Has anyone used a mount that clips onto the air vent?

look under ebay for this item ( 150279913008 ), I got one and have the XM radio on it. I have a black interior and many of my friends thought that this comes with the car.
Just an idea it may help there
