Replacing Key's Battery (with Keyless Go option)
My spare key does not work anymore. Does anyone know how often do you need to replace your key's battery? My car is a 06 model.
Does the key get recharged when plugged into the car? I guess if you don't use a key for a while, the battery slowly drains off and since the car has the keyless go option, the key rarely gets plugged into the car.

MY battery went flat after two years of use on an '06 with keyless go. It looked a little complicated to get to the battery so I got lazy and went to the dealer; at the parts department they changed the battery in a couple of minutes.
I was told that it would be cheaper to buy the Radio Shack battery but for an extra few bucks I didn't have a problem with the parts department doing the battery change.
