I drive the racism out of BadDebt. ;)
a buddy of mine has a ridiculously boosted civic. he pulls me just barely off the line until we hit about 75-80 and then i walk all over him. the 55 just keeps pulling.
his car is completely gutted and he is running a water to air intercooler set-up. if i had to guess i would say the car has about 400 crank hp.

a) a bad driver
b) cheap tires
c) slipping clutch
d) small turbo
e) restrictive exhaust/charge pipes
i put down 412whp and i can walk the 55amg by 2.5 car lengths any day of the week without nitrous. This was done on a Garret T4 compressor which isnt made for quick spool. Rather its best for topend on a car that has 2.0 motor...
i cant seem to find my vid of my pass..which really does fail on my part.
just remember that the CLK 55 amg is almost 2x the mass of a civic.
for instance, a civic that comes in at 1900lbs and puts out ~400bhp/aprox 350whp is gonna spank a CLK the closes in at almost ~4600lbs? and 360bhp/320whp...
mass matters; gear ratio matters; driver skills matter; tires matter.
if your friend really claims that he had 400bhp and is boosted outragously, he should be able to hand the w209 its *** clean.

03 CLK 55 AMG, IMCO muffler/Magnaflow tips, KW V1 coilovers, 19" Petrol Metrix Wheels
the 55 is not 4600lbs, that is the GVW number. the 55 is about 3600lbs and has 368 hp. anyway he does pull on me from a stop. but i loose him after 70 with top end grunt. his civic just doesnt have the legs. i am guessing he has 400 crank hp. the car is turboed and intercooled. he bracket races it. i am not a honda guy so that is about all the information i can give you.

I guess I'm an arogant SOB!!
I don't even drive on roads that allow Civics, Integras or any of those cars with the Briggs and Stratton engines. No offense to anyone....I just don't understand the logic behind racing to a stop light.

I own a Integra modified it runs high 14s low 15s with no spray with spray high 13s low 14s in the 1/4mile remember it's auto (it's up 4sale). One of my sponsor shops have customer civics that runing 12s in 1/4 miles there street legal. They built a civic hatch with a stock JDM ITR K swap with JDM ITR K tranny with LSD that run high 12s, another boosted civic built head stock bottom end LS/VTEC I think or could be a GSR motor he dyno at 420whp runing 12s with no traction and another Civic hatch that's all motor stock bottom end built head B20/VTEC (GSR head) and he dyno at 204whp, ran a low 13s. Remember these Honda has no TQ there all known for mids to high end power.
