CLK55, Mini S
Dealers can write in the details on a blank order sheet. For the W211-AMG, that is all I got. Of course, in my mind, this is why it is good to put down money -- you get a reciept for it. It lists the options and color as TBD. If I had a dealer tell me I was third on thier "list" but did not have to put anything down...I would at least get something in writing.

2004 S500 4MATIC AMG SPORT PKG. - 2002 RANGE ROVER
I have....
I placed an order for CLK500 Cabriolet since August of last year. I am 1st on the list at the local dealer.
I am still hoping this will have a hard top like SL and SLK. If not I may actually pass up and keep my current CLK Cabriolet.

I had $1K on a AMG CLK55 for a year before it was announced - about a year after that I actually got the car
The deposits are 100% refundable. In Dallas there seem to be a bunch of guys that put $ on any AMG and in the pipe.
Good thing is that MB does jack the price like BMW - M3 guys have been gouged beyond belief - a 50K car going for 60K.

Jame55 - Most MB dealers sell at MSRP. If you wait your time, that's what you pay. It's on the "used" cars that they seem to sell for what the market bears.
I read an article that mentioned Ford dealers were getting close to $30k over MSRP for the new T-Bird. That makes sense. I guess I have a hard time understanding why someone would pay that much, especially when I have zero interest in the car. The T-Bird is not a $65k car, is it?
