No 7 speed (722.9) is a dual clutch. The MB transmission is an auto, a dual clutch gearbox is a manual.
What MB DO have is a standard 7 speed and a 7 speed with a "wet clutch". Basicly it's like having a std clutch with oil cooling so it can handle very high torque loads and all the benifits and smoothness of a auto but the directness of a manual

The 7G-tronic (722.9) is not a dual clutch transmission and has a torque converter.
The new AMG Speedshift MCT 7 replaces the torque converter with a wet clutch assembly that allows less slippage. It does use multi-clutch technology but its not the exact same as the SMG or PDK tranmissions used by BMW or Porsche
The links below provide some information on how it works.

thanks for the information
its kind of confusing
so the 63 series amg have a multi clutch not a dual clutch
is the multi clutch started by Mercedes?
in my 08 clk350 when I first start it off the line it sort of feels like a dual clutch, its hard to explain but starting off of 1st gear reminds me of a dual clutch in a M5
